Good books, like good families, seem to produce good progeny, and so it is with this youngest in a long line of excellent works. Previous editions of the monumental and massive Current Diagnosis were in the expert and diligent care of Howard Conn and Rex Conn. Rex Conn, after the unfortunate death of Howard Conn, is doing a perfectly admirable job of carrying on as principal editor. A special mention is made of Howard Conn's contribution, and I think this book serves well as a fitting monument to the foundation he laid in the previous six editions.
The book is a classic, as its predecessors have been, with 1,364 pages full of vital, up-to-date, and knife's edge material in medical diagnosis. The limitation of the book is deliberate in that the intention of the editor and contributors is primarily to have a diagnostic reference text enabling specialists and generalists alike
