To the Editor.  —I read the article by Ms Mendelsohn and colleagues1 with interest and amusement since I recall that The Anatomical Basis of Medical Practice by Becker et al2 was taken from the market because of too many illustrations of nonreproductive anatomy of females. I presume that now publishers will need to count illustrations to be certain that their texts are not gender disadvantaged, and they will need to submit the text to students to make certain that the illustrations do not depict individuals more attractive than the readers.
