An error occurred in the CLINICAL CARDIOLOGY "Preoperative Cardiac Catheterization: Its Need in Most Patients With Valvular Heart Disease" published in the Aug 13 issue of The Journal (1982;248:745-750). On page 748, the fourth full paragraph should have read as follows: "Noninvasive techniques that might be useful for detecting the presence of coincident coronary artery disease in patients with valvular disease include ECG exercise testing, thallium 201 [not thallous chloride Tl 201] perfusion imaging, and radionuclide angiography or two-dimensional echocardiography at rest and during exercise." On the same page, the first sentence of the second full paragraph in column 2 should have read as follows: "Myocardial imaging with thallium 201 [not thallous chloride Tl 201] may produce information additive to the ECG in detecting areas of myocardial underperfusion during exercise."
