ABSTRACT

ARMED FORCES HEALTH PROFESSIONS SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAM (AFHPSP) The AFHPSP, established September 21, 1972, as part of the Uniformed Services Health Professions Revitalization Act, is the US Department of Defense's subsidized recruiting program for obtaining qualified professionals for military service.The program provides scholarships for eligible persons in accredited educational institutions within the continental United States, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Currently, scholarships are being offered to medical and nurse anesthesia students.The military departments have each developed implementation procedures for the administration of the AFHPSP in their service.
