The current management of bone tumors is given in this multiauthored textbook, which represents papers delivered at a conference in London convened in 1985. Experts from 25 countries attended, but the majority of the papers came from the United States and Great Britain.

Definitive care is brought out, and the reader will be encouraged by the new developments that have occurred in the past 15 years and been incorporated into the armamentarium. Several chapters specifically discuss the design, development, material characteristics, and use of metallic replacement prostheses for replacing or bridging large osteoarticular defects, with or without cement. Further reading is then directed at six sections on pathology of bone
