This is an excellently edited symposium on low-flow and closed-system anesthesia held less than a year ago. The contributory group was well chosen and included essentially all who have contributed to the advancement in this area.
The coverage of the subject is excellent. It includes (1) uptake and distribution, (2) technique and cost, (3) special procedures and variations, (4) equipment and measurement techniques, and (5) ecology and liability.
This book is timely—cost is now a vital factor in our practice. Precision, safety, and legal implications need no emphasis to the practitioner. Even if one is not using the technique and is an agnostic, this book is a must.
This is a practical, concise, clearly presented monographic text. It is an absolute must in all libraries of universities that have a program, and all in practice should read it.
The authors are to be congratulated for an outstanding book.
