ABSTRACT

Nuclear Medicine in Clinical Practice is a welcome addition to the nuclear medicine library. The authors have provided a concise and readable text for practicing physicians and surgeons who rely on diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures in the evaluation of their patients' conditions.

There are 16 well-written chapters by different experts in the field summarizing past and present nuclear medicine tests. Each section is approximately 20 pages and contains ample charts and good illustrations. Each stands alone, allowing the busy clinician to select a section for study at his convenience.

The introductory elementary physics chapter discusses the basic concepts of radioactivity and the machines used to detect and image radioactive distributions. Included are typical radiation doses for various radionuclide procedures with comparison doses for complementary radiological procedures.
