Several errors occurred in the June 6 issue of The Journal in "Standards and Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC)" (1986;255:2905-2984).
On page 2920, the first line of the legend for Fig 6 should have read as follows: "External chest compression. Left, Locating the correct hand position on the lower half of the sternum [not 'body']." On page 2921, the first statement of the section entitled "B. Breathing" should have been "Assessment: determine breathlessness [not 'pulselessness']." On page 2924, Fig 9 should have depicted a rescuer kneeling astride, not beside, the victim. (The correct position is shown in Fig 11, page 2959.)
On page 2941, the third complete sentence should have read as follows: "Dopamine is available in 5-mL ampules containing 400 mg of dopamine hydrochloride, which when mixed in 250 mL of 5% dextrose in water produce a concentration of 1600 [not '800'] μg/mL." On
