This 466-page handbook assists physicians in practice in dealing with the everyday sexual problems of able-bodied persons as well as those in whom illness and medication affect the sexual responses.
The self-administered screening questionnaire is thorough and thought provoking for the patient. It is a time-saver and may reveal antecedent factors relating to current sex problems. The physician is encouraged by the authors to proceed by selecting main problems from the questionnaire to be followed by a face-to-face problem-oriented history (pp 20 to 23). Some essential and relevant questions were omitted, however, and might be appended as follows:
