ABSTRACT

This is a superlative book that belongs in the library of every surgeon performing gynecologic operations. There are nine chapters covering the indications and contraindications for the principal types of gynecologic operations and emphasizing the various complications and how they develop, how to avoid them, and how to care for them should they occur. Probably no other readily available single source offers such a comprehensive discussion of the prevention and the management of all the potential complications of gynecologic surgery. The numerous drawings and photographs are excellent and well chosen to illustrate various technical points. Each section concludes with a carefully selected list of references.

A final chapter by a highly competent lawyer with long experience in the malpractice field sets forth many of the important legal points of view and contains sound advice.
