To the Editor. —
"Crippledom" (Vaisrub, 237:2636, 1977), the newly-designated variety of sufferdom, is ingenious and quite possibly an improvement on "crippling." However, would the editors of The Journal hold still for an exhibition of similar daredom in a manuscript submitted to them for publication?
The suffix "-dom" designates a domain as in "kingdom" or status as in "serfdom." In the latter context, "crippledom" is appropriate. As to "daredom," it could be an asset in a submitted manuscript if combined with wisdom.
