The series, of which this is the fourth volume, is devoted to the publication of fairly lengthy reviews of clinical and of pathophysiologic aspects of the rheumatic diseases. Although it is subtitled "An Annual Review," these books are neither reviews of the literature of a year nor have they been published annually.
The latest volume maintains the high quality of content and production set by its predecessors. The editor, Dr. G. E. Ehrlich of Temple University, provides an introductory essay about the interrelationships of the rheumatic diseases. Drs. P. Henkind and D. M. Gold, both of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, review the ocular manifestations of the rheumatic diseases, and Dr. N. A. Cummings of the National Institute of Dental Research discusses the manifestations that affect the oral mucosa.
