Two grievous errors occurred in LETTERS of the Oct 20 issue, on page 559. In the communication, "Serum Enzyme Values in Infectious Mononucleosis," by Melvin B. Black, MD, the printer threw away three references, and somehow LD5 was spelled out "lethal dose," a patent absurdity, not of Dr. Black's making.
Two lines of type were omitted from "Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis" by Drs. Katz and Rorke. Their second paragraph should have read:
"The authors state that the histologic changes and type of inclusion bodies in their patients were different from those in ours. The histologic changes reported in our patients were classical for SSPE," etc....
Unfortunately, the erroneous reading appeared to make sence, although grossly inaccurate.
