The letter of Dr. LeMon Clark (209:563, 1969) expanded on the latent gonorrhea in women and the Desdemona distress of female patients with this problem. The most famous example of this dilemma is described from the man's point of view by James Boswell in Boswell's London Journal, 1762-1763, New York: McGraw-Hill Book Co., Inc., 1950, pp 150-160.
