ABSTRACT

This publication analyzes in detail the clinical manifestations of 4,000 cases of bronchial carcinoma treated by a single surgical group. The careful documentation reflects the candid and precise approach so characteristic of these surgeons. They have obtained an international reputation for superb technical and clinical management, and their experience and judgments are reflected in many of the presentations made here.

The material has been collected from a single geographical area and thereby embodies the advantages of careful follow-up and statistical evaluation permitted with this population. A clear presentation is made in the first chapter, and the final summary provides the reader with easily accessible facts gleaned from their experiences. The intervening chapters elaborate and document the first and last with detailed presentation of specific symptoms and clinical findings pertinent to the management of patients with carcinoma of the lung.
