Beginning with the January issues of The Journal a new, more complete "Information For Authors" page has been provided to assist authors in the preparation and submission of manuscripts and graphic components (p 370). We urge all authors, their secretaries, artists, and photographers to follow the guidelines set forth in this advice so that accepted manuscripts can be processed without some of the time-consuming delays which have characterized the past.
For 1973, The Journal's staff has pledged a high standard of excellence in the publication of every manuscript. It may not always be apparent to the reader, but our authors realize the extent to which our staff members pursue and attempt to resolve inconsistencies in text copy, provide correct grammar, and attempt to attain the best possible presentation and reproduction of illustrations, both in their preparation and printing.
