This handsome volume is a compilation of the clinical anesthesia conferences that have been a popular feature of the New York State Journal of Medicine since 1956. Prepared originally by the Anesthesia Study Committees of the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, 77 of these conferences have now been selected for publication by an editing committee led by Lester C. There are sections on respiration, circulation, blood transfusion, regional anesthesia, use of muscle relaxants, obstetrics, transurethral resection of the prostate, anesthetic technique, and problems of management. With few exceptions the case reports pertain to anesthetic complications per se or those relating to surgical difficulties. Although
