Dr. James V. Warren, chairman of the Department of Medicine at Ohio State University in Columbus, was installed as president of the American Heart Association Oct. 10 at the annual meeting of the Assembly, the national delegate body of the Heart Association. The meeting was held this year in Cleveland.
Warren succeeds Dr. J. Scott Butterworth, associate professor of medicine at the New York University College of Medicine, who assumed the post of chairman of the association's central committee for medical and community program.
President-elect is Dr. John J. Sampson of San Francisco, clinical professor of medicine at the University of California School of Medicine. The assembly also elected nine vice-presidents, re-elected Berkeley D. Johnson of New York as treasurer, and elected 18 members to the board of directors.
