An Overview of Emergency Medical Care Services

ABSTRACT

The American Medical Association's Board of Trustees has established a Committee on Emergency Medical Services. The purpose of the Committee is to serve the needs and interests of the American people with the cooperative efforts of national organizations involved in emergency medical services by identifying, coordinating, and aiding in the implementation of programs of education, manpower, standards, organization, and research within a total framework of comprehensive and quality-directed emergency medical care.
