A new Questions and Answers book, based on selected inquiries and consultants' discussions published in The Journal in 1966, is now available. This paperbound volume contains 333 pages, and its 37 chapters include the authoritative responses of 275 consultants. Important innovations this year include a larger page size and an improved binding. The addition of a comprehensive subject and author index should make the book a more convenient reference source. It has been possible also to reduce the purchase price.
It is revealing to peruse the Questions and Answers volume published ten years ago. A decade ago, no information was requested by American physicians concerning contraceptive drugs or surgical therapy for valvular heart disease. Analysis of the inquiries received last year and published in this volume provides graphic evidence of changed patterns in diagnosis and management. The Questions and Answers Department accurately mirrors changing needs of clinicians in every discipline
