To the Editor:—
First of all, the removal of nevi at anatomic pressure points is consistent with the recommendations probably made by almost all doctors who see a large number of nevi. Secondly, there is a considerable difference between the relationship of the pigment to the pathogenesis of melanoma, and recommended prophylactic treatment of black moles in children. Lastly, I believe we have one example of a hairy mole in 1,500 odd cases of melanoma in adults. Hence it is most unusual.
