Col. Kenneth E. Pletcher was named command surgeon of the Military Air Transport Service at its worldwide headquarters, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. He replaces Brig. Gen. Robert S. Brua who was named command surgeon for the Pacific Air Forces with headquarters at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.
Dr. Raven Promoted.—
One of the first female physicians to be admitted to the Army in World War II, Dr. Clara Raven, became the first woman ever to be promoted to full colonel in the Army Medical Corps in a recent ceremony at Brooke Army Medical Center. Colonel Raven, a pathologist, is chief of the Laboratory Service of the 323d General Hospital, a U.S. Army Reserve unit from Detroit. Her promotion was made during the opening assembly of the unit's annual 2 weeks of active duty for training at the Medical Field Service School.
