To the Editor:—
In reference to the letter to the editor, "Greek Yes!—Latin No!" (JAMA176:636 [May 20] 1961), I notice that onychophagia has apparently provoked an enjoyable brain biting. It was a pleasurable experience that Doctor Anstall has revived in connection with onychophagia Horace's Ars Poetica. I have little doubt that a scholarly mind such as Anstall's must be, could have not made an error in this beautiful quotation. The correct wording, however, is: Indignor quandoque bonus dormitat Homerus and not quandaque. This is probably a typographical error, and in defence of the printer, who is also not infallible, I would be grateful for the insertion of these few lines in your next issue.
