It has a good index and an interesting biography of each of the original authors. The text material has been prepared by 15 well known British specialists. The color plates are excellent.
The first section includes chapters on surgical infections, chemotherapy, wounds and burns, water and electrolyte balance, shock, blood transfusions, malignant diseases, and diseases of the skin and lymphatic systems. The remaining sections include orthopedic surgery, surgery of the nervous system, surgery of the head and neck, surgery of the alimentary tract, and surgery of the genito-urinary system. These are of a style and content that make the book suitable for ready reference.
