Col. James T. McGibony, Director of Plans, Supply, and Operations in the surgeon general's office, has been appointed to a 3-year term on the American Hospital Association's Council on Professional Practice. This council is concerned with the improvement of medical, nursing, and other professional services in hospitals and is also concerned with the improvement of professional education.
NAVY
Radiation Exposure Evaluation Laboratory.—
The Navy's new radiation exposure evaluation laboratory, the first of its kind in the world, was dedicated at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md., in October. The new laboratory will be a central point for the diagnosis and treatment of persons who have been or may have been exposed to harmful radiation.
