A. M. A. FORMS NEW DEPARTMENT OF NURSING
The American Medical Association announced the formation of a new Department of Nursing to carry on liaison with national nursing organizations. Veronica L. Conley, Ph.D., who for the past 12 years has served as secretary of A. M. A. s Committee on Cosmetics, was named director of the new department, which is a part of the association's Division of Scientific Activities. Dr.Conley holds a B.A. in biology from Boston University, M.N. from Yale University, and M.A. and Ph.D., in education from the University of Chicago.In making the announcement, Dr. F. J. L. Blasingame, executive vice-president, said that Dr. Conley will also serve as secretary to the Committee for Liaison with National Nursing Organizations. This committee is headed by Dr. Cleon Nafe, Indianapolis, a member of A. M. A.'s Board of Trustees. Committee members are Drs. Clarence H. Benage, Pittsburg, Kan.; Elias
