Students and practitioners should find this compact handbook a useful guide to the diagnosis and treatment of the commoner diseases of the skin. It is concise and readable and is designed and printed for rapid reference. In this edition the sections on therapy have been extensively revised and brought up to date. The volume is, in effect, a basic textbook of dermatology. Short chapters on the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the skin precede the clinical descriptions of the individual dermatoses. General discussions of etiology and treatment and a formulary of prescriptions for topical therapy are also included. The chapters describing the various dermatoses are well illustrated with many full page, black and white, clinical photographs, most of them showing excellent detail. The final chapter contains suggestions for the proper nursing care of patients with each of the major types of dermatoses—a useful feature. This book is recommended.
