ABSTRACT

COLORADO 

Institute for Cancer Research.—  Ground was broken recently for the two-million-dollar Eleanor Roosevelt Institute for Cancer Research at the American Medical Center, Denver. The dedication speech was given by Arthur S. Flemming, Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare. Senator Richard L. Neuberger, Oregon, was also a speaker. The research unit will draw patients from the American Medical Center, a nonsectarian center founded in 1904 as the Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society. The center changed its name and began taking in cancer patients about five years ago. It is privately financed and offers free and unlimited care to patients for all stages of cancer. The research director of the institute will be Dr. Robert A. Huseby, of the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
