It is a pleasure to have this opportunity to welcome you, for the American Medical Association, to this first Pre-Convention Session on School Health. It is hoped that sufficient interest in this event will develop so that it may grow into an annual affair. The physicians of the United States, it seems to me, are demonstrating their desire to play a helpful role in the formulation of school health policies and programs. Thus, it seems fitting and proper that a meeting such as this should be conducted in conjunction with the A. M. A. annual meetings.
