Dr. Spies Honored.—
For the first time, an "International Boss of the Year" was selected by The National Secretaries Association (International). The honor went to Dr. Tom Spies, of Birmingham, director of the Nutrition Clinic at Hillman Hospital and chairman, department of nutrition and metabolism, Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago. The award was presented to Dr. Spies during Secretaries Week, on Secretaries Day, Wednesday, April 22. Dr. Spies' background was submitted for the "International Boss of the Year" award by his secretary, Miss Margaret Owen, of the Birmingham Chapter, National Secretaries Association.
Clinical Meeting Held at the Tuskegee Institute.—
The 47th annual meeting of the John A. Andrew Clinical Society was held April 12-17 at the John A. Andrew Memorial Hospital, Tuskegee Institute, under the presidency of Dr. J. D. Merida, Cleveland. Over 30 papers were presented, including the Charles R. Drew Memorial Lecture given by Dr. Hollon W.
