Dr. Fitch Wins Vitamin Award.—
Dr. Coy D. Fitch Jr., an intern at the University of Arkansas Medical Center, Little Rock, has won the three-year Russell M. Wilder Fellowship of the National Vitamin Foundation, given to one man in the nation each year and made to "medical scientists who show great promise in research on nutrition and metabolism problems." Dr. Fitch, a native of Beebe, was awarded the Faculty Key as "the graduating student whose scholastic abilities, personality, and character best qualified him to become a physician" when he graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine last June. Under the terms of the fellowship, the foundation will give the university $16,500 over the next three years to support Dr. Fitch's work toward a doctor of philosophy degree in biochemistry, to complete his residency in medicine, and to carry out research projects.
