Changes in Surgical Departments.—
Lieut. Col. Curtis P. Artz, commander of the Surgical Research Unit at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, has left the military service to become professor of surgery at the University of Mississippi in Jackson. Colonel Artz entered the Army Medical Corps in 1948. He has been associated with the research unit at Brooke Army Medical Center for the last six years.Col. Warner F. Bowers has arrived at the Tripler Army Hospital in Honolulu Hawaii, where he will be chief of the department of surgery, succeeding in that position Col. George Beatty, who has been assigned as chief of the department of surgery at the Valley Forge Army Hospital, Phoenixville, Pa.
