Dr. Hyman has, by categorizing the possible stages of each clinical syndrome, attempted to guide the practitioner from the first visit to the patient to the final cure. Subdivisions include principles of diagnosis and therapy, immediate care, continuing care (favorable course, unfavorable course, progressively unfavorable course), probatory anti-infective therapy and desperation anti-infective therapy.
