ABSTRACT

ALABAMA 

Dr. Durrett Named Dean.  —Dr. James J. Durrett, chief of the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Medical Opinions, Washington, D. C., will become the second dean at the Medical College of Alabama between May 15-June 15, succeeding the late Dr. Roy Kracke. During World War I Dr. Durrett was an officer of the U. S. Public Health Service. From 1920-1928 he was professor of public health at the University of Tennessee School of Medicine, serving at the same time as health officer for Memphis. He was director of the Food and Drug Administration's work with purity in drug products for three years, later becoming director of professional relations and chairman of the research committee for E. R. Squibb and Sons. He left Squibb and Sons to join the Federal Trade Commission.
