Extend Child Study.—
The General Education Board has given $61,700 to the Institute of Child Welfare of the University of California, Berkeley, permitting the continuation and extension of studies, already under way, on the mental and physical development of school children. Under the grant, a research center was to be opened September 1, supplementing the present offices of the institute. It will contain library facilities for the use of students in the field of child development and statistical and research offices for members of the staff, graduate students and other members of the university faculty. The grant will be administered under the
