Lectures in Psychosomatic Medicine.—
A lectureship on psychosomatic medicine sponsored by the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Denver, is to be given at the university February 7-11. The guest lecturer is Dr. Douglas D. Bond, professor of psychiatry, Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland. All physicians licensed to practice medicine and who are members of county medical societies are invited to attend. A detailed program may be obtained from Dr. Franklin G. First Typhoid Case in Seven Years.—
The first diagnosed case of typhoid in New Haven in seven years occurred November 5 and resulted fatally November 16. This was the first recorded death from typhoid in the state for 1948. An investigation proved that the victim had eaten clams which had been dug from a posted area along the shore af New Haven harbor.
