To the Editor:—
I have read the article in the Aug. 13, 1955, issue of The Journal, page 1361, concerning the use of tubes for combining suction and feeding following gastric surgery. In the article appears the statement "No appliance heretofore described permits the removal of the suction mechanism before the feeding mechanism." I published an article in the November, 1950, issue of The Journal of the International College of Surgeons. Both articles deal with the same subject and the same principles with the exception of the introduction of the instruments in question, which is insignificant as the theory is the same in both instances.
