ABSTRACT

The material has been rewritten completely in many sections of this book to conform with recent knowledge concerning the care of infants. It has been an authoritative book for mothers for the past twenty years or more. The volume is divided into three parts. Part 1, "The Care and Feeding of Infants," includes not only the usual chapters, but also one each on "Growth and Development," "Habits and Training" and "Sickness." Part 2, on "Suggestions to Mothers," contains a valuable chapter on "How to Travel with a Baby" and another on "A Typical Day," which summarizes and coordinates much of Part 1. Part 3 concerns itself with "Recipes and Charts." There are 181 pages of easily readable type, an index and 15 photographs 1/2 to 1 page in size illustrating such things as putting on a diaper and equipment for the bath.
