This book is devoted to a detailed description of the methods used for the biologic assay of certain vitamins. Assay procedures for vitamins A, B, C, D and E are given but because of the increasing use of microbiologic and chemical technics, some of these now have only historical value or are useful only under special circumstances. Nearly one fourth of the book is devoted to a consideration of statistical methods applicable to the assays discussed in the first part. This discussion is probably the most valuable portion of the book. Nevertheless, this volume has limited usefulness but may be of interest to those engaged in routine bioassay work.
