This monograph is thorough and competent. The anatomy of the tracheobronchial tree is discussed in minute detail with all of the possible variations. Similarly, the pulmonary vessels, both arterial and venous, are minutely considered, with the surgical application being paramount in each instance. Anomalies of the heart, pulmonary vessels, and other large vessels are considered together with the surgical application and surgical treatment. The book is well illustrated. There is an excellent chapter on experimental pulmonary vascular and experimental tracheobronchial operations and a complete chapter on the use of surgery for treating asthma. The last chapter consists of drawings from an original atlas of the pulmonary arteries and veins, based on 50 lungs from adult males, the dissection apparently having been done by the author. The monograph is an excellent reference book and should be in the library of everyone interested in cardiopulmonary disease.
