MEDICAL SURVEY OF BITUMINOUS COAL INDUSTRY  In accordance with instructions received from the House of Delegates, the Council on Medical Service and the Council on Industrial Health have kept abreast of developments in the Bituminous Coal Mines Wage Agreement. The survey of health, housing and sanitation in the bituminous coal industry which was stipulated in that agreement has been completed; an abstract appears elsewhere in this issue (page 537). Dr. Walter B. Martin of Virginia, who has acted as chairman of a committee to study the situation, has made the following analysis of the medical survey report:The recently released medical survey of the bituminous coal industry is a valuable document. It gives a fair appraisal of the medical situation in the soft coal area.
