NEW DIVISION OF TROPICAL DISEASES
The Surgeon General, Dr. Thomas Parran, announces that the Public Health Service has established a new division of tropical diseases in the National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Md. Heading the new unit will be Willard H. Wright, formerly chief of the zoology laboratory and, during the war, field director of the Commission on Schistosomiasis in the Southwest Pacific and Japan. Dr. Wright received his D.V.M. degree from George Washington University in 1917 and a Ph.D. in 1935. He is a member of the American Academy of Tropical Medicine, the American Society of Parasitologists, the Helminthological Society of Washington and the New York Academy of Sciences.
