ABSTRACT

The fact that a second edition appears within two years of the first edition is evidence of the popularity of this treatise. A department representing the dermatologic and urinary specialties has been added, and the book has been brought down to date; otherwise the arrangement of the work is the same as in the previous edition. The practicability of the work is evident throughout, as is shown among other things by the introduction of illustrative prescriptions useful in the treatment of various diseases. The first volume deals with the treatment of pain, syphilis, tuberculosis, cancer, gastrointestinal disturbances and diseases of the liver and pancreas and concludes with the diseases of blood and blood-making organs. The second volume includes diseases of the heart and blood vessels, kidneys, respiratory apparatus and nervous system. The third volume includes the treatment of disturbances of the endocrine glands, allergy, dyscrasias, infectious diseases and intoxications. The
