ABSTRACT

ALABAMA 

Statue of James Marion Sims Dedicated.—  A life size bronze statue of Dr. James Marion Sims, New York (1813-1883), pioneer gynecologist who spent his early years of practice in Alabama, was dedicated April 19 during the annual session of the Medical Association of Alabama. The statue stands on the capitol grounds near the bronze likeness of Dr. John Allan Wyeth, confederate soldier, surgeon and author and founder of the New York Polyclinic Medical School and Hospital.
