ABSTRACT

Food Poisoning a Notifiable Disease  The London County Council has made a new departure in this country with regard to food poisoning, bringing it into line with infectious diseases. Every case must now be reported by the physician to the health officer of his district. Every day the council issues a food poisoning bulletin, which is sent to each of the twenty-eight health officers of London with the object of preventive action. It has been stated that the new law may lead to some difficulty, as there is no exact definition of food poisoning, which may be confounded with digestive troubles of various kinds. It has also been suggested that human "carriers" may play a part in the propagation of the malady.
