ABSTRACT

To the Editor:—  In answer to the first question on page 748 in the November 5 issue of The Journal, whether colloidal aluminum hydroxide diminishes absorption or the efficacy of aureomycin, I would like to make the following comment. According to the information available to us there is a considerable amount of evidence that aluminum hydroxide gel does decrease the absorption of aureomycin and may interfere with its therapeutic effectiveness. This information, incidentally, is so new that I am sure it would not have been available to you at the time the question was prepared for printing.I trust this information will be of some assistance with regard to this problem.
