INTERN AND RESIDENT TRAINING PROGRAM  Within the next few weeks forms requesting information from hospitals approved for intern and resident training will be forwarded by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals to more than 1,300 hospitals. The statistical data which are published in the annual Internship and Residency Number of The Journal are based on information furnished in these forms. After publication of this issue, the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals invariably receives communications from some hospitals calling attention to inaccuracies or to the omission of information in the listing. Such errors usually result from failure of the hospital to fill in the form accurately or to report changes after submission of the report. Additional information sometimes is submitted without satisfactory explanation. The annual list of approved internships and residencies provides information to prospective applicants for appointments and is the basis for many statistical studies concerning graduate training.
