To the Editor:—
The Journal of Oct. 6, 1945 has just come to hand and I have read with much interest the editorial on ketosis on page 448. I notice that the term "ketosuria" is used to mean excretion of ketones in urine. I do not know if this term is commonly so applied in the United States, but it seems to me liable to cause confusion. I suggest that "ketosuria" should be reserved to mean the presence of ketoses (usually fructose) in urine and that the term "ketonuria" should be used to mean the presence of ketones in urine.
