ARKANSAS 

District Meeting.—  The Fifth Councilor District Medical Society was addressed in El Dorado, January 8, by Drs. Alton Ochsner, New Orleans, on "Carcinoma of the Lung: Early Diagnosis and Possibilities of Treatment," and William W. Scott, Chicago, on "The Urinary 17-Ketosteroids: The Rise of Our Knowledge of Their Origin and Excretion and Their Clinical Significance."

CONNECTICUT 

Personal.—  Dr. James C. Fox Jr., formerly clinical professor of neurology at Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, has been appointed assistant medical director of the Hartford Hospital.—Dr. Albert W. Snoke, Rochester, N. Y., assistant director of Strong Memorial Hospital, has been named director of the New Haven Hospital.

Physician Honored.—  Dr. D. C. Y. Moore, Manchester, was guest of honor
