Realizing that the interpreter of pulmonary roentgenograms must not place undue emphasis on appearances which are of almost universal occurrence, the author of this little book has initiated a series of studies to throw more light on the interpretation of the roentgenogram of the adult chest. In Venezuela the author has evidently taken a lead in seeking to perfect our knowledge of this subject. This little volume deals with the postero-anterior projection of the healthy subject. It is assumed and hoped that further, equally meritorious, studies may follow in due time. The study was begun in Spain but the revolutionary events caused the author to continue his work in Caracas. Nearly all of the clinical material came from the dispensary of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
